Hi,
be VERY careful with it - we made bad experience with it:
one of our customer's 'forced' us to install our servlet based application on a
FreeBSD system (jdk 1.1.7, apache 1.3.9, jserv 1.0) and everything worked but it was
unbelievable slow - it was ten times slower on a PII 300 MHz with FreeBSD installed
than on a P I with something like 100 MHz and Suse (RedHat) Linux on it.
Now, the same hardware with Linux on it works fine.
Why? Well, I believe it's because of the JDK Port (sorry folks) ; further on you
should consider that there is no free JIT available for FreeBSD (at least half a
year ago)
So - in conclusion: I wouldnt consider to work with this configuration ....
