• Becomes involved with business partners in the project
conceptualization phase
• Works closely with the project managers and business technology
specialists in developing the appropriate solution to meet the business
partner’s needs
• Works under general supervision of Lead Business Analyst
• Works closely with a variety of internal and external business partners
• Works closely with Lead Business Analyst on a multi-team project
*Job Description: *
Through an in-depth business understanding and knowledge of the use of
technology and applications in business, the Business Analyst will:
• Facilitate communications between IT and the business
o Gathering, defining and documenting high-level business
requirements/user stories on behalf of the business including acceptance
criteria for each user story
o Convey high level requirements to system analyst to help ensure detail
level requirements meet business needs
o Consult with business partners on current issues and concerns to help
identify and clarify their goals and technical requirements
o Represent business sponsors as Product Owner for IT projects and lead
backlog grooming session with the IT development team
o Participates in defining and prioritizing project work and requests
o Inform team members about ongoing discussions with business
o Inform project team on any new findings including best practices
o Communicate project status to Lead Business Analyst
o Accurately translate business requirements into user stories
o Direct the development of user documentation and training materials
o Provide input to training efforts and helping business partners
effectively use systems
o Participate in system design and, in particular, user interface design
o Document current As-Is business process and future To-Be business
process

• Ability to communicate business users needs to technical staff
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment

• Some industry knowledge a plus

Bachelor’s degree required,

3 or more years of business and system analysis, management, and project
planning experience
