Yes, we should eventually see a failure; I think it's just rare. Maybe try
making a new test that constantly indexes docs, w/ low merge factor &
maxBufferedDocs (so lots of flushing/merging happens) in one thread and
constantly opens an NRT reader in another thread, to tease it out?
