On the contrary - I've been finding things a little quicker.
All the things I've thrown at it build and run without a problem and it definitely
seems more efficient in the VM area, I seem to have more spare ram (ie. the free
memory after subtracting buffers/cache) but I'm not sure if its just a bit more
aggressive at moving things into swap.

This is with Redhat 7.0 and the kernel was built with the GCC that came with it (after
applying the new RPMs from the redhat site)
