Ah, so Java Solves it ... some don't like to hear that.

On the Server Side the heavy lifting is often with
Linux, Apache, and Java; and Java lets you have a nice
one language solution for both the Server & Client
for simple chat, and 3d networked multi-user environments.

I thought Web3d.org & The National Science Foundation were
about advancing this technology ...

" problems with VRML/X3D ... solved ... VRML Loaders for Java3d "
---------------------------------------------------------------
|
| It would be nice if someone like Sandy Ressler
| would address the issue as to whether it is
| necessary as Justin Couch has suggested to be
| 'on crack' to animate Web3d's H-Anim Avatars
| as I have done ( without using Crack ) with Java3d.
|

http://archives.java.sun.com/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0112&L=java3d-interest&P=34696

| Hey, what sort of crack are you on ?
|
| That codebase didn't even support protos
| let alone H-anim.
|
| Scripting support was barely functional and
| the event model was nowhere near spec compliant.
|
| You're __ bullshitting __ again.
|

Hmm, Isn't Justin Couch writing a slanderous insult ...

here to the Web3d list ?

Isn't that a violation of Web3d's rules of etiquette ?

If those rules are applied, are they applied fairly ?

Oh, but Justin Couch, no one has done more than Justin Couch ...

Oh, and what he said isn't true either.

Oh, and other people joined in on his side of the 'flame war'
so by shear numbers, he must be right, mob rule replacing
the scientific method.

That's the policy of Web3d.org & The National Science Foundation.

Is that a good policy ?

Yes, Sandy Ressler, Mr. VP of Web3d, I'm sending a copy
this to the Director of the National Science Foundation
because it is the right thing to do because people
recieving tax funds from the NSF made this worse, and
isn't part of your job at the NIST to advance this
technology ?

VRML Loaders for Java3d give you animation in a browser.

http://archives.java.sun.com/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0112&L=java3d-interest&P=35799

  Mr. Ressler & Badler:

The Director of the NSF has not indicated that receiving
information pertinent to her job is a 'bother'.

Perhaps she doesn't consider doing here job a 'bother'.

Perhaps she wants to do the right thing.

If she's not retarded she can make that decision herself,
and unless you are suggesting otherwise, I'm not going to
assume that's the case, although you seem to be suggesting
that neither she nor her staff can do that without you.

  Perhaps she should receive this,
and should reply, and to do otherwise
might be a moral failure and dereliction of duty.

Portability is not just a dream of the radical fringe.

Portability is the reality of the networked world of today.

Portability is what VRML & Java are about.

The Sun VRML Loaders can be used to animate H-Anim Avatars.

  I've done it.

Hava a nice day everyone, tis the season to be jolly !
