I'd classify myself as an intermediate-level
(hobbiest) developer when it comes to real-time
terrain rendering, and would be interested in
particpating in relevant discussions in both question
asking and (when appropriate) answering modes. Most
of my terrain experience to date is with binary
triangle tree and quad tree based algorithms using
GL4Java, but I'm currently involved in a spare-time
Java3D project with Dan Selman working on an
inter-locking tile- and geomipmap-based terrain LOD
engine, among other things. So, I hope I could both
benefit from and contribute to the terrain discussion
list (whether or not it manifests as a distinct list).

My $0.02 to hopefully validate the usefulness of a
terrain group,

Bob
