Hi,

I have been working with java3D for half a year. My experience with programming in graphics is limited so I thought java3D was a good starting point for me. It turned out to be very good for our needs with its high level API.

I work at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden as a PhD student. We have just started a project where we trying to make an auto stereoscopic display with interaction and we use Java3d to the underlying application that generates the images. To start with we work manly with CAD/CAM related models but it will be possible to display all kinds of models and stereo-generated pictures in the future. For the time being we find the API very good. One thing that had made it easier for us is if the objects hade been Serializable.

For now we are only two people working with the programming but hopefully the project will grow in the future. I wish that the development and supporting of java3D would continue and that there is a central "reference" implementation to work with.

Thanks
/Christoffer
