Having perused this mailing list's archives and some of the J3D FAQs for several hours, I'm left with the distinct impression that using J3D and Swing in the same application is a bit of "stand on one foot, grab left ear with right hand, now jump up and down and sing 'Dixie'". It can be done, but it ain't pretty or robust. Has Sun made any statements, be they official or not, regarding the time frame for making Swing and J3D interoperate a bit more smoothly/reliably?
