Daniel,

You are correct in thinking that no alpha value was used in 'test30'. The
code from 'test30' was used in a larger project which altered the wave
surface with time, AND the position of an offshore structure with time.
(The application also had more comprehensive animation navigation controls
which allowed for play, fast forward, rewind, advance one frame forward/back
etc). Because the structures position was pre-determined (random in nature)
it was merely a function of time and therefore did not require an
interpolator. Because the wave was non-linear it was easier for me to
generate the profile myself (using an interpolator would have been far too
convoluted - if not impossible).
If you are interested in seeing the application it can be downloaded from
(go to the download for 'AQWA Sequence Player' near the bottom of the page):

As far as your particular problem is concerned can you give more details on
what you are trying to achieve?
It may be that an interpolator is not suitable for your needs...

Andy Phelps

Subject: [JAVA3D] stop, play, forward, rewind an Animation

Hi everyone,

Given an Alpha I want to get a Panel with some buttons to play, stop,
forward (advance one frame) and rewind (move back one frame) an animation.
I tryed to use the setStartTime from alpha class, but only the stop and
play actions work well.
I saw the example "test30" attached by Andrew Phelps and is exactly that I
want. Unfortunately I think no Alpha is used, furthermore I don't find the
code that controls the back and forward actions.
Could someone give me a hint ?
I am waiting for your help.
Thank you.
