Nobody speak about Accutrans3D. It's a 3D object conversion sofware.
A lot of file formats are supported. If you read french you can go
to http://www.jcosmos.claranet.fr/model/model2_2.htm to see a review
of 3D sofwares offering some interesting features for an usage with Java3D.
Also, you can point your browser on the Accutrans3D site to
http://www.unibase.com/~4dsol/accutrans/at3d1.html.
