Here's an idea I've been (so far unsuccesfully) discussing with
someone whom works @ Google...
They have a very java-skeptical attitude and so far aren't buying the
JavaFX advantages.

The problem:
I hate having to click a dozen times to upload pictures to Blogger,
one by one. Click, upload picture, click file requester, click select
file, click, OK, Click add another file, click select file, click, OK,
repeat ad-infinitum.

There is a company that has developed a multi-file uploader written in
cross-platform Java.
http://www.element-it.com/JavaPowUpload.aspx

But it's commercial.

Idea: could someone come up with a "multi-file uploader" for Blogger
that is top-notch and shows everything that modern (java 6+, perhaps
JavaFX) is capable of?.

IMHO it should make use of JDIC - https://jdic.dev.java.net/ --
features like "minimize to systray", perhaps embed the system web
browser (to show the "new post" window for the user's blog, with
additional buttons on the side to upload the files (perhaps also with
a "drop zone" to allow drag-and-dropping a whole folder, whose
contents are then uploaded as images for the blogger post?).

Ideally it should be "flashy" -pardon the pun-, round edges, progress
bar(s), show "ETA" for completion time, etc.

Could this be done?. Of course, technically it could be. :).

Unfortunately, I have all the ideas but not the time or programming skills.

Thereby I donate this idea to the public domain... ;-). If anyone
thinks this is a good opportunity of showcasing what JavaFX is capable
of, then you've got my blessing.... of course it should ideally be
open source, so Gogole can use it officially on its site/services.

Once it's done, by all means do let me know, so I can try to continue
pushing this to this Googleperson. (very easy, my part of the work,
right? ;-)

Thoughts, comments, expletives?. <VBG>
