Besides all the evil practices, some of their products are simply put, a pile of crap.
Windows Vista was a joke (not a funny one). IIS Server is a joke. Windows Server 2008 is a resource hog, another joke. The list can go on and on. So on top of those practices, you have crappy implementations, that people purchase because they simply don´t know (haven´t been allowed to?) know better. Apple might do evil too, but their stuff is usually very good and "just works" (thanks to MS lower standards, we take what should be the default behavior as some sort of computing miracle).
