Er, are you familiar with the US law system? It is very much illegal to firesale your own company like that. You have a responsibility to your share holders, and giving away your holdings like that will drop the value of stock for no foreseeable return. Its relatively hard to prove it (some nebulous 'its good for long-term stability, for example because it'll make us popular with the tech crowd, making recruitment easier later' excuse usually works), but when a buyout is inevitable and you are giving away the very resources that potential buyers are interested in, you bet you're going to get sued. And you'll probably lose.
