There is a way in Outlook to change the sound of incoming e-mail. I've
given it a quick look, and can't find it at this time. There must be
something about how to do it in help.

HTH,
Annette

Thank you Denny. It sounds like more trouble than it's worth. I'll
probably just stick with Outlook since that's the program that I know most
about.

See ya,
Scooter

Donnie,
There is only one way I know of to do this, but it takes a lot of work and
then sometimes you will miss an incoming message in Outlook.
What I did is to assign a different sound to each list I am subscribed to
and to each person I receive email from regularly. Then I turned off the
play a sound when mail arrives in the tools options of Outlook.
But I have an email sound assigned in the control panel under sounds.
This way the default sound will play when you receive a message in Outlook
Express and only hear those sounds you have assigned in Outlook when you get
a message from that list or person.
Like I said, it's a lot of work and if you don't have a sound assigned for
someone you receive a message from, you won't know you have a new email
message unless you look.
Other than this, I don't know of any other way.

Denny

Hey Guys,

I am experimenting a little with Outlook Express. At times I have Outlook
and Outlook express both running on my computer. Right now when I get a new
email in either of the two, it makes the same sound for both. Is there a
way that I can have Outlook Express make a different sound than Outlook?

See ya,
Scooter
