Emusic.com is quite thoroughly reputable. It has a number of advantages over other music services. It has no DRM to interfere with players. The track quality is high, I think I recall they encode at 192 kbps, but I may have that wrong. There are no restrictions on what you can do with the track once you purchase it i.e. burn it, give it to someone, transfer to a player, etcd.
The downside, if it be one, is that they do know, by in large, feature mainstream artists. If you want Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Madona, Linda Rhonstadt, James Taylor, you will not find them there except for maybe an obscure cut or two. However they do feature a wide variety of world music, independent rock, jazz, folk and other styles by somewhat less well known artists or those who are wanting to thumb their noses at the recording establishment. However, you're not going to get a nasty-gram from the RIAA or a prosecutor over your use of the site. It is probably best to use Emusic.com along with a more "mainstream" site to meet all your music needs. Is this site on the up and up? what I mean is, am I going to get a letter from the prosecutors office stating that I have been inadvertently stealing music? and how would one go about checking to be sure this doesn't happen? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com> Sent: Sunday, September 09, 2007 10:21 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessabillity of Online Music Services > Hi Shannon, > > Thanks for your email!
