Hi Dan, You can use the F5 key to refresh the list anywhere in Windows explorer. when this is done, nothing in the list is selected, and causes the new sub-menu, to rise to the top of the file menu. It's easier to just refresh the list with "alt+V", then R for refresh. Then go under file for the first choice to be "new". My instructor had told me a few years back that the shortcut key for creating a new folder is alt and F pressed together, then the letter W by itself, then the letter F by itself. This used to work like a charm, but now it doesn't always do the trick. I like to create new folders in my downloads folder for the DVD's I own and then rip to MP3 format. When I try the alt F, the letter W and then the letter F, often I'm not right at the edit field for create new folder.
