Adrian First of all I was not the least offended by your question. No I was not aware that one could turn them on and off. Since writing, I have turned them on with no result other than JAWS says "on" and "off." . Unloaded and loaded JAWS, no change. Shut down and restarted multiple times and still no luck. Are there other configuration elements that I might have messed up while learning about JAWS under the hood? I have looked all through the JAWS options thinking that somewhere along the way I must have turned them off. I am a relatively new user having switched from WindowEyes, so I went to the article on browsing for folks moving to JAWS from WE. So much is similar between the two that switching was easy.
