Hi Patricia, You are correct. I might also suggest that you go to your desktop and find the Jaws 7.10 hotkey, open it's properties and make sure that you blank it out if it's assigned to alt-control-J. This way, you can assign that shortcut to Jaws 8.0. Ok I'm having a brain mental pause and need alittle jumpstart on starting jaws. I uninstalled an older version Jaws 7.0 and consequently, when after rebooting, I had no speech till I used a hot key to bring it up, which was version 8. So still having version 7.10 and 8 on here, do I uncheck jaws 7.10 box that says startup automatically? And only have version 8 to start up since it's the preferred choice?
