That's certainly the case for me at work, where this problem also occurs.
Both my home and work computers are using Windows-7, 64-bit machines.

I've noticed this issue of JFW becoming more sluggish after a period of
time, too. Specifically, sometimes I will leave my PC on over-night. When I
come back to it in the morning, even using something like file explorer
seems like a chore for the computer/JAWS. I restart, and it's as good as
new, so to speak. I feel that I shouldn't have to do this. I may not be one
of them but there are people and organisations who have to keep their
systems running for long stretches of time as a matter of course.

Steve,

Might be, but as you say, 4 G of RAM is pretty massive. I agree that coding
is more likely the issue, since the real slowdown problems happened after
JAWS 16, when they changed "under the hood" operation. I still think JAWS is
subject to memory crowding either because of itself, or because it is using
memory areas that it did not use in the past. Most of my complaint have been
due to JAWS getting less responsive the longer it runs. After a clean
restart, it seems to get more responsive again, until it starts to slow
later.

I'll let folks know if I am more satisfied with jfw.exe set to high
priority.

Dave,

One of your issues might be 32-bit OS. That limits you as to your memory
usage which I think tops out at only 4Gigs in a 32-bit system.
