Can you create the media and then run it as an update on an existing laptop 
running an earlier version?

I wonder if downloading the media creation tool and then creating an 
installation DVD would be more practical then updating my systems along with 
some others that I am sure will come across my door step.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the matter?
