Hi Fred,

I have not had Norton on my system, so would prefer to leave the description 
of how to totally remove it to those who have done that.  I do know that 
there is a Norton removal tool on the Symantec Web site.  It may be you will 
need to use it.  On the other hand, it may be, however,  that there are 
still Norton entries in the add/remove section of the Control panel, which 
can be removed easily via add/remove.  If you can't remove them, i.e., get 
an error while trying to do so, don't worry about that and let's see what 
others with more norton experience offer.

  Thanks for setting me straight on Norton and my spelling.  I am not very
computer literate as I taught myself what little I know about computers
using jaws tutorials and a couple of list like this one.  Now that you have
helped me with this, can you tell me how to rid myself of Norton?  I have
searched hard but found nothing,  I thought I had uninstalled everything to
