Good advice! Do you get a Windows error when the computer finally logs in?
I had a similar problem, but in my case JAWS 10 stopped speaking just in my
account. I performed the steps Victor outlined. The registry scan found
and repaired many problems. After a few reboots. the computer started up
very fast and JAWS was working correctly again.

Which, if any, programs have you used to scan for spyware.
You should scan your computer with, at least, two or three spyware
scanners.
I would also do a detailed scan for a virus, with what ever you have on
your computer.
I would also do a registry scan for any possible conflicts you may have.
