Hello Ann,
Actually, even if the "show all" button is pressed in a Word 2007 document,
JAWS won't speak the paragraph marks unless there is a change in verbosity.
First of all, the shift+CTRL+8 still does turn on the "show all" choice in
Word 2007. If you use the keystroke and then check on the lower part of the
ribbon under the home tab, you will find the status of the "show all" button
changes when you use the keystroke of CTRL+Shift+8. However, for JAWS 10 to
read the paragraph marks you need to go into verbosity by using JAWS key
with V. Press the letter N until you get to the new lines and paragraphs
indication choice. Press spacebar until it is set to "when reading" and
then press enter key. Don't use the "when navigating and reading" choice
unless you want to hear both new lines and paragraph marks announced. If
"show all" is on then using up or down arrow keys should read you the
paragraph marks. If the "show all" button is not pressed you will only hear
"new line" as you up or down arrow across the paragraph marks.
Take care.
to when reading.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS speaking space markers
In Office 2000, typing control-shift-8 has always turned on display of
spacing codes--space, paragraph marks, etc--and JAWS has spoken the codes.
I have code display turned on in an Office 2000 document, and although
JAWS 8 reads the indicators, JAWS 10 does not. When I wrote FS tech
support because Rout PC to JAWS does not work for me in Word 2000, Mr.
Jackson said there are aspects of Office 2000 not supported by JAWS 10. I
wonder if this is another piece of Office 2000 that JAWS 10 does not
support. Is it working for anyone else????
thanks,
Ann
