Hey Kimsan,
The ellipsis is a symbol used to truncate words or sentences. If you set
the level of punctuation for the ellipsis at "all" and then set the level
for periods at "most" you should hear periods and not ellipsis using the
default "most" level. If three periods are used instead of an ellipsis
symbol then you will still hear the dot dot dot. The ellipsis is found at
the bottom of the list in the customize punctuation dialog in the
configuration manager. You can insert an ellipsis using the JAWS key with
the 4 on the numbers row of the keyboard.
Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] punctuation frustration
Ok, I am going nuts. Lets see if I can word this right.
What is the difference between the period and the ellipses?
I hate it when jaws says dot dot dot for the ellipses but it also says
period period period which I hate. So, how can I get the pronounciation
of elipsis to be silent but also have all the periods be read for like the
end of sentences?
This customizing punctuation is a pain in the A$$! I should have just
left it alone and not try to "customise" it.
