Victoria, Let me tell some details you and those who are curious about this topic: as equipment, we need one or more than one dishes as you like on the roof correctly installed by the satellite man directed to the correct satellite you wanna receive the broadcasts from. as second, we need a digital tv card which is able to receive dvb; digital video broadcasting. as software to watch, there are many options like DVB Viewer, ProgDvb, DvbDream and etc. I use ProgDvb, because it is almost fully compatible with Jaws for windows, though it is not the best among the viewers listed above. What can you do with this software and with the equipment i listed before? you can watch through your pc, you can turn your pc into a tv, you can navigate among the satelites if more than one with route Jaws to pc thanks to the clean interface of the software. It is very quick, so dont worry about the speed of navigation. after choosing the sat you will watch, all the wrest is done through normal pc cursor. The greatest challenge is the ability to use remote control, yet remote control itself is not that usable for visually impaired tv users. If you got a wireless keyboard, you will use your digital tv card with remote control speed already, so dont worry about it. you can volume up and down by assigning keystrokes within the programme, you can mute or unmute, record your favourite show, with one keystroke, you can switch among the diffrent languages that tv channels offer, such as choosing the serial "Lost" in its original language or in the dubbed language if available. Since there is a huge community on internet using digital tv cards, tv channels periodically gets updated, so you do not need to be worried to lose your channels if their transponders change. After you complete the physical conditions/equipments, I am here willing to help you on the software part, this could be either through Skype sessions, or through another way. But i can tell you that there is much to discover and taste here.
