hi Joe to start your computer in safe mode you need to restart it and push
the f6 key as your machine reboots beware as jaws will not speak in safe
mode
you will need a sighted assistance to get it back to where it will talk
good luck

I've tried all the suggestions provided here and am still not able to
uninstall Avast. Maybe I don't know how to restart my computer in "safe
mode". Can someone please help me resolve this problem. This program is
like a leech and I really don't know how to get rid of it! Thanks to all.

You need to click on the AVAST in the system tray and click on stop
onboard protection.
Then you can remove it completely.
If it isn't showing in the list of programs in the control panel go into
the C drive and click on program files and remove the AVAST folder. Then
restart your computer.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem with Avast!!!
Hi All,
This morning when I turned on my computer, I had a message alerting me
that my Avast subscription had expired. Since I had decided some time
ago that when this happened, I'd like to try Ms Essentials. I downloaded
it, but it couldn't be installed until I removed Avast. So, I did what
was needed to remove Avast and, of course, I thought that was that. Not
so!!! It no longer showed up in my control panel, but was still alive in
my system tray and to make things worse, all day, the notice kept
popping up and interfered with everything I did. My question now is, how
do I uninstall Avast? I've tried everything I can think of with no
success. I'm sure someone on this list will come up with the answer I'm
looking for. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jo

It makes clicking sounds when things happen. All you need to
use is
arrow

If you are running windows 7 and JAWS 11, try the games that
come in
windows. I have played solitary already and it works fine.

What games do most blind folks play here and what website would
someone
recommend when wanting to download free but accessible games?
Peace
