Now this is inconvenient news to say the least. So another software update
leaves us in the cold.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] New Avast Free 5.0 not accessible with Jaws.

Hi list. I tried the new Avast 5.0 free version out on my PC this morning,
found it inaccessible with Jaws because alwil Software has changed the
interface into a graphical interface, so I restored my computer using my
backup I created with Image for Windowswhich already had Avast 4 Home
Edition. Now, what I would like to do is uninstall Avast 4 Home Edition and
use Microsoft Security Essentials instead. I have tried to uninstall Avast
in the past, but it didn't completely uninstall and was still in the system
tray when I rebooted. Right now I'm still using Avast 4 Home Edition and
Windows XP Professional SP3. I'm using Jaws 9.0, the latest build. I have
downloaded alwil Software's uninstall utility, but I'm told I will need to
use it in Safe Mode. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Stanley
