Hi Kimsan,
Okay, one way to do this is:
1. bring up the run dialogue, and type in the FTP address.
2. An Internet Explorer dialogue should pop up asking for user name and
password.
3. These are tab controls, so just tab thru them, and you will see where to
enter the user name and password
Now, WinZip, has nothing to do with FTP,but, you can use 7Zip to open
compressed file archives.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Hi Rick:
I'm trying to get books off a website where I am currently undergoing
training. My instructor sent me the address, user name and password and all
she said was to use any ftp client.
If I could do this using IE8 that would be great and I can get rid of the
filezilla thing.
Someone suggested winzip, which that cost money and considering where I
work, I don't think I will be able to afford it.

Hi Kimsan,
An FTP client is designed for logging into FTP servers.
If you have been given access to an FTP server, you will have the address,
user name and the password.
It is not always necessary to use a third party FTP client,
many times you can simply use Internet Explorer.
If we had a better idea of what you are trying to accomplish,
we could give you more specific information.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Ok, how do I use this filzilla 2.3 version that was up on the programs page?
The edit fields say address, user and then password, so do I type in the
address? If I do, must I type www. Before it? Sorry for the stupid
questions, member, I have never used a ftp client before.
Hopefully, someone will come to the rescue because this list seems dead
tonight.
