Hi,

  Just to make sure I gave the right instructions, I just tried it 5
minutes ago.

  After you have selected who you wish to chat to, go right at the top
of the page by doing a Ctrl+Home, when you arrow down a few times, you
should hear, "View Profile". Below that link, there's a edit box which
acts like a history window in Windows Live Messenger.
Oh, I know which graphic you are referring to. I have no idea what it
does. Likewise, I have no idea what that edit box right at the bottom
of that page do too. Sorry.
