Mike,

I hear ya there buddy, but even with a light probe all it does is make that buzzin' sound to let ya know a light is on, but sure as heck don't tell ya the color of the blinkin' light which is always what they ask...is the green light on? I'm thinkin' green stands for go so that should be like a no brainer for them to figure out or, otherwise why are you callin'?

Good Morning Richard;

I am sorry about posting such a message but, I have run into situations with our Internet Provider when I needed to know what lights, are or are not, lit
on the modem and not having someone sighted around to tell me so I could
tell the IP tech support person. Without my service working correctly it
renders Jaws useless with trying to use many programs and functions of the
computer. I thought that this little tip could help people keep Jaws
working more efficiently and have less frustrations in using Jaws in their everyday lives. You see, if I lay on Doctor Phil's couch long enough I can relate anything to using Jaws! LOL Hope this helps clear up my convoluted
ways of thinking! LOL Take care.
Mike

Mike,
This isn't Jaws related, but thanks for the info just the same.

Hi All;

Here is a tip I ran across on another list that I thought might come in
handy for a lot of us.

Dealing with lights on your router,modem or other device.

hi folks, thought of this a while back, and then saw this post and
realized
I was right, it will work, so passed it along! elf ----- Original

For Lisa and others who may be concerned with knowing the status of
indicator lights on a router or modem, I can determine which lights are
on,
off, or blinking with a light probe. Independent Living aids has one for twenty-three dollars and change. They work well for a number of things. I
use my probe to tell me about the lights on various cooking devices such
as
a rice cooker, foreman grill, and many other things. It will find lights
on
those little cube shaped power supplies that plug into the wall; the
blinking light on the victor stream; the light on the computer speakers;
and a host of other things I can't bring to mind just now. Just a
thought.
Lois Goodine.

Hope this helps.  Take care.
Mike
