Agreed!
Though I only use Outlook 2007 I have no problems with the ribbons at all.
I find them smooth to navigate and there are keyboard shortcuts for all of
them.
So instead of navigating the ribbon I just press the corresponding keyboard
shortcut.
One I use frequently is alt+h s l
This brings up the set language dialog for the spell checker.
Or alt+h o p
For message options.
