Hi all,
Please visit www.totalrecorder.com (very accessible with JAWS just like their software) for up to date pricing. I bought the Professional Edition for $35 as of yesterday (08/05/2010). Writing this in US format for convenience.
Hope this helps.

awesome

Hi all,
In the Total Recorder user interface, there are some sliders.
Have a
play about with those, accessible with the tab key, and see what
you can
come up with. As for the message about the unregistered version,
this is
normal and is reminding you what you will experience in the
unregistered
version. After all they don't want you to get away with using it
for
free without the noise, but at the same time they like to warn
you in
case you or anyone else hears a very loud random sound when
playing back
the recording. So what they do is remind you each time you start
the
program. Now, once you have registered this message will not pop
up
again because, well, there will be no random sounds in any of
your
recordings.
Hope this helps.

Now Chris, I have a couple of questions to ask you! 1) How do I

the volume of JAWS and my voice while recording? 2) How do I

downloaded the
basic one. Please write back.

Hi all,
I'm glad you're enjoying the software. Yes, I should have told
High
Criteria that it's accessible because of the keyboard shortcuts
built
into the program.
Now, to each their own, but I think their editing capabilities,
despite
it being basic, is quite good. But I will still use GoldWave
for
more
advanced editing, including adding effects.
So, for JAWS users, you should have at least GoldWave as one
audio
program at your disposal.
Hope this helps.

First, thanks much to Chris H who turned me on to
www.totalrecorder.com on this list. I have been recently
checking out
diff programs to record audio off streaming audio or audio/video
content
and this product is superior at many levels. I've been playing
with the
trial ver this morning and delighted due to the following
reasons which
I have not found in any other such recorder I've explored.
1. totally accessible with Jaws with hot keys built into the
software.
2. Lossless recording quality. So I am a huge obsessive audio
phile and any app that degrades sound quality even one bit form
the
original is a deal breaker for me. I gotta say with the
'software' mode,
and recording output set to 192kBPS stereo Mp3 I couldn't find
any diff
between the original and the recording. I tried this with some
mp3 songs
already on my PC to really be able to tell any diff and found no
difff
in the recording. Also distortion at high pitch/volume parts of
this
grunge song had zero distortion.
3.

Part of my recent research to record streaming content also was
to use my GW Micro's BookSense's line-in to record on the BS off
my PC.
I gotta say that too dipped the recording quality noticeably and
tended
to add distortion especially at the high pitch/volume portions
of the
original. Besides that way is so much more cumbersome as u
gotta have
your PC, the BS and the 3.5mm-3.5mm cord.
I am buying the Std Edition and recommend it to anyone remotely
interested in recording off other devices or the internet.
