Hi Bill;

Below are a couple of ways to do only what you are asking.

Hi,
In a folder or Explorer Window, first hit alt plus v folllowed by l to set
the current folder to a list view, then go to the menu, tools, folder
options, on the view tab, in the tree view of options make sure "remember
each folder's view settings is unchecked.
Then hit alt l to set all folders to current view followed by y to confirm
and then tab to ok and press enter.
If you don't do this then settings are retained for each folder separately.

Jon

Hello;

  1. Go into your documents folder and hit Alt-V. this brings up the view
  menue.
  2. Now arrow down to List and press enter to check it.
3. Press alt + V for the view menu again, arrow to the " Arrange by sub-menu
", press enter, arrow down to " Name ", and press enter on it.

  4. Now hit alt-T for tools and arrow down to folder options. Hit enter.
  5. Hit control-Tab. It should say, apply to all folders. Hit enter.
  6. It will ask you if you want these changes to apply to all folders.
  Enter on yes.
  7. Tab to OK and hit enter, and you're done.
  This should fix all your folders so they are in a list view.
Hope this helps.  Take care.
Mike
