Dear Mike, Another easy way is to just open the excel document, select all with control a, copy to the clipboard and paste into a blank word document, to be saved in .doc or .dox format.
That will preserve the tables and formatting and can then be read in Ms Word. If you have Word, you probably have Excel as part of Office. It is probably most easily read with Excel. However, if it does not contain many columns or extremely wide, perhaps it could be converted to a Word table.
