Hmmm,
You actually need to send the actual word document itself as an attachment.
I'm not sure if Outlook 2010 has an automated way to handle those documents.
If not, when you copy the body of the word document, i.e. with the document
opened, select the entire document with control-a then copy it to your
clipboard with control-c, you could then create a new email message and
paste the text contents in with control-v. When you do it that way, you are
just sending the body of the document either as .html or as .txt, depending
on how you have your email client configured to send outgoing messages.

Hi steve,
Last night I sent a message from my old computer to a group I belong to
and
here is what I did. I copied a word document and then placed
It in a body of the email I sent the group and when I sent it and when it
arrived it had an attachment. When JAWS reads the message bar
It says attachment and there it is. It works the same on my old computer
as
my new one Old running xp with office 2007, new w7 with
Office 2010.

Doug,
I might be in on this late.
How do you arrive at the conclusion that you are sending attachments? The
reason I am asking is that some anti-virus programs sometimes indicate
that
email messages have attachments when they in fact do not. So, that gives
rise to the question of what anti-virus program you are using? I recall
this was an issue with earlier versions of AVG.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2020 question
Hi everyone,
I just started using JAWS 12 and outlook 2010. I seem to be sending
attachments automatically.
Is there something I need to turn off. I'm anxious to see if this
message
sends attachment. Can anyone help please.
Blessings
Doug
