Jimm,

Try the following. Press Control + Insert + NumpadMinus. You want it so that "the JAWS cursor will not follow the PC cursor". If it's saying "the JAWS cursor will follow..." then press it again. When you have the setting corrected (as above), press those keys twice again.

John, I tried your suggestions. I went to the download folder and hit alone, it said, leaving menus, and I was no longer in the download folder. Some setting is definitely screwed up here. Jim

Jim,
This may sound silly but your problem might be ribbon related, rather than
jaws related.
The next time you are in that folder, try pressing the Alt key alone. I have found that with ribbon based displays, alt F commands don't always
function as they should.

Whatever is the problem here, it's unlikely to be JAWS related.

Hi all,
I installed jaws from the jaws 12 disk. I think I need to repair it.
Reason... while in the download folder in windows 7, the one on the C
drive, that comes with the machine, alt F and Control C or Control V
do not function. So, I can't move downloaded books out of that folder,
unless I use the applications key and arrow down to either cut or
copy. Then, I can go to a folder in my documents and move the book
there. But... why don't alt F and Control C etc. no longer work in the
download folder? They do in documents. I am running windows 7 home
premium, jaws 12, on a 64 bit machine. Jim For answers to frequently
