Perhaps, but my point is that some / all of those drivers will be out of date in a reasonably short time, so restoring them to a new install down the track could cause problems.

IMO, it's a much better idea to keep your drivers current - within reason -
rather than back-up / restore old or corrupt device drivers.
In my experience, corrupt or old drivers are the biggest single issue people
have with computers.
