Hello Jason,

I'm using jaws 11 at work, the pc from which I'm replying now but use
jaws 12 on two computers at home.

I'm not on the jaws list at my home address, but will forward the
message and look again tonight, but as far as I can recall, you don't go
into the settings centre, just try the following:

Choose the jaws context menu with the long insert key together with j,
Then choose options,
Then press v for voices and
Enter on or press V again for voice adjustment.
Then you are, after a few seconds, supposed to be on the profile, which
would currently probably be on eloquence.
Press enter to get into the combo box and arrow through the profiles.
If you don't have one set up yet for the specific realspeak voice you
wish to use, go into, by enter, the real speak profile.
Tab down to the further options, inter alia language where you want
english, probably your default already, then, on a further tab choose,
with the arrow keys, the relevant person, like e.g. Daniel.

All the realspeak voices already installed on your computer should be
listed under the voice person of the realspeak profile.

Tab further down and change the settings accordingly and save the voice
under e.g. realspeak Daniel, or whatever relevant.
Decide whether you want it to become the default jaws voice on the
prompt after saving, which I wouldn't recommend, as it's a bit less
responsive than eloquence for other jobs than reading.
Then save finally and when you in future use the on the fly command to
switch among profiles, it will show up.

I'll check tonighton jaws 12, but I'm fairly sure I've covered the
necessary steps.

Riana

Hi Riana. Thanks for that. Like I said earlier. I had used the realspeak

voices in the alternate say all command before. As I installed them from
the
second CD, that came with an earlier version of Jaws. I think it was
Jaws 10
or 11? So I assumed, that they would still be available on my system to
use
with Jaws 12? I have redownloaded them again from the FS website. Like
you
suggested. Surely we don't have to keep reinstalling them with every
subsequent version of Jaws?
I am still having trouble, finding where to go? So as to select
which
voice I want to use? I have listened to the Jaws training book. On how
to
choose an alternate voice during say all. But the options and menus they

discuss. Are not there. I have also looked under the settings area of
the
utilities menu. As suggested by another list member. But still with no
luck.
Do you or any other list members have any suggestions? As to what i may
be
doing wrong. Again, I am using Jaws 12 on an XP home machine.

Thanks again
Jason
