Hi Rich, Here are 2 explanations on how to do this. #1:
1. While in Word, press Insert / Jaws key + V, for quick settings. 2. Arrow down a couple of times to the tree view 3. Press the letterT, until you get to, Tab Measurement Indication, press the spacebar to uncheck this box, & press enter to save the changes & close. #2: 1. While in Word, press Insert / Jaws key + V, for quick settings. 2. Type Tab, into the Search box, & wait for the list to populate. 3. Arrow down to, Tab Measurement Indication, press the spacebar to uncheck this box, & press enter to save the changes & close. If someone has another way I would be interested in learning it as well. Hope this helps. Take care. Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: rich To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, March 02, 2012 3:13 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft word question. Hi all; I have XP and13.0. I just updated to 13.0 and when I am in Microsoft word, JAWS reads tabs, for example, when I am at the top of the page, I hear 1 inch. or, before a certain line I hear 1.5 inches. I am not sure where to turn this off. I can not get JAWS to announce the - symbol. Precise directions are appreciated. Oh, lately, I have sent messages to JAWS and they would not appear in my in box. So please, could someone reply. This would let me know if the message is going through. Any suggestion on the "word" and, "sending" issue is much appreciated.
