FWIW, I was forced to upgrade to WIN 7 after my old XP computer died last October. The geek shop I dealt with sold me IE9 along with the OS. IE10 wasn't mentioned and, BTW, they also weren't then recommending WIN8 to any of their customers. This was an ordinary, garden variety geek shop, not one specializing in accessible technology, though they were certainly aware of my peculiar needs and took them into consideration. I haven't done research; but I gather that both WIN7 and IE9, unlike XP, will be around awhile. JH

Since finding it in my window's update today not checked and not installed, just wanted to ask list if it's still an optional choice for now, or is it the way of the future..? I guess was thinking it was strictly for window's 8?
