Hi Greg, The Vocalizer voices available to you at this time do not include the option for pitch change. Until that ability of pitch change in Vocalizer is available, I suggest you consider using the Speech and Sounds Manager to assign a sound for capitals instead of saying cap.
You can choose to create your own sound scheme which indicates capitals by a pitch change, to announce the presence of uppercase characters, or even to play a sound for capitalized letters by creating a new scheme. To do this, perform the following: 1. Press INSERT+F2 followed by ENTER to open the Configuration Manager. 2. Press ALT+S to open the Settings menu; press M to open the Speech and Sounds Manager. 3. TAB to Create New Scheme and press ENTER. 4. Press CTRL+SHIFT+TAB to go to the Misc page of the dialog. 5. Arrow to Cap. 6. TAB once and select how you want capital letters to be indicated. The choices are to speak them using the normal voice, speak them with a voice alias, or to have JAWS play a sound when they are located. 7. TAB to the OK button and press ENTER. 8. Enter a name for the new scheme and press ENTER. 9. TAB to Save Current Scheme and press ENTER. 10. Press ALT+F4 and choose YES when asked if you want to save changes. Or is there some other way to get them to let me know that a letter is capitalized?
