honestly, I'm not exactly sure what os I have. I bought my laptop from a
dealer, and he told me that it was win 7, but I could have been mistaken.
the setting display does have the xp layout, and why haven't I called
microsoft or jaws? because I'm not able to at my job. thank you for your

You're using a Windows7 machine but have an XP-style display? Is that the
source of problem then? Or, Why didn't you get in touch with FS or with
Microsoft, as was suggested?

hours ago, all the icons on the desktop are hidden, but only from jaws.
they
are all visible to a sighted person, and that's the desktop, and all the
icons on the entire task bar (start menu, to the clock)
