If for some reason your keyboard required that drivers be installed so that
you can access all of the bells and whistles and there are not drivers for
the keyboard in Windows7, you have lost some functions of the keyboard.  If
you were dependent on those lost functionsyou might be experiencing
additional frustration.  Maybe your friend thinks that if you by a newer
version of the keyboard you will gain back all functionality.

Hi Marilyn,
As long as the keyboard will connect to the computer,
it should work the same as on Windows XP.
If you have a keyboard with a PS2 connector, and there are no PS2 ports on 
the new computer
then you would need to make a change.
