Yes, and that is the problem at work. They do the updates, by they I mean
automation, and don't seem to care that when they do these I can't do
anything for that time. I guess my question was whether there is any way to
use jaws while these updates are going on, or do I just have to wait. Judy

You could turn off the Windows Update feature for a week or a month and then

restart it when you have some idle time at work. I'm not sure when that 
would be, just a thought.
I myself have Windows automatic update turned off because it uses up 
bandwidth I could be using for other things.
