I never have the monitor turned on because it does me no good being, totally blind. We have a monitor for when my wife or family members need to use my computer. Our monitor is a 22 inch wide screen so, that's why for the , Orientation, setting it's set for landscape. When I first installed Jaws the default was set on the highest screen resolution but, as I stated earlier, it took me a lot of playing around before I settled on the 1360 × 768, setting. As far as the size of the your monitor screen, I would think that it would be the shape of the screen rather than the size. As I said earlier the monitor at this house is a wide screen meaning, it's wider than tall so, that's the reason for the landscape setting. If your monitor was a conventional screen, it would be taller than wide &, you would use the, portrait, setting for orientation. By no means were these foolish questions! I'd be willing to bet that many people had the same inquiry in minds! HTH Take care. I have found that on many systems Jaws seems to work fine with what the system chooses as the default based on the hardware and software installed. Sometimes you can adjust the display for better performance which may be good for some programs, but not others, so you usually end up with looking for a happy medium.
