I doubt it. There are some English words like putting or read that will pronounce differently based on context - i.e. based on adjoining words. However putting can be pronounced as though you are tapping a golf ball into the hole, vs. placing an item up on a shelf.
Read can be pronounced in the present or past verb tense. One idea I've not tried is to put some of those contact word pairs into the default dictionary with forced pronunciations, to see if that helps. Give it a try.
