I don't know Windows 8.1. There may be another word which actuates the execute file in flash player. Try other variants of the term - flash, flash player, adobe flash...

Or go as if you would delete the program. Ask for details. You may hear its version before you actually hit the delete button.

You may also go to the adobe site and find out the latest version. If you did not download an update in the last few weeks, you may not have the latest one.

As a last resort, go to the adobe site and download the latest version, If you already have it, you'll be notified.

Press Windows key and r (should get you to the run menu. Then type run. Flash should come up. Press the JAWS key, CNTRL and V simultaneously and the
version of flash player should come up. JAWS,CNTRL,V is a JAWS command.
