No I did not. JAWS 16 started up as if it were already merged.

Maria, did you merge settings when you installed J16? Up until now,
I've always downloaded "clean" and re-set everything. Seemed wasteful
and I was thinking of merging settings this time around - I always
wait until the first or second monthly update with each new J version
before downloading so haven't yet experienced the joys of J16.
Cheers..

This is only speculation on my part of course. However, even though
each big upgrade of JAWS is a separate program, they share
components. As each program is removed or newly installed, I believe
these shared components get corrupted at some point, creating the
many issues discussed on the list.
I, for one, never know whether or not to leave or remove shared
components with each new upgrade.
My issue with JAWS 16 is that it never installed with default
settings, but rather looks as if it merged with God knows whit
version of JAWS on my computer.
It seems to me that FS should figure out how to keep each version
from affecting another.
Just my two cents.
