NO,. what Dave is talking about is new. Heretofore, it just showed text on screen, and you couldn't dump it into a word processor or text editor as you can now. For instance, you can take a document into Word, clean up any OCR errors, and save it in any of the available Word formats, including PDF.

But in this case...there wasn't any info to read after it was processed. I do have J/16, just been lazy in installing it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Carlson" <dgcarl...@sbcglobal.net> To: <jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2015 1:24 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] OCR on PDF Trish, In addition to the Openbook suggestion, if you have JAWS 16, you can simply press the JAWS+Spacebar and then the letter O for OCR and then the letter D for PDF. The convenient OCR will recognize the page, and it's pretty fast. Then in the OCR viewer window, you can select all with Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to copy. Paste into Notepad to save the text. Very convenient. Well, I need Jaws to read this PDF, I ran the OCR and it's suppose to be a doc file, but even though I was hopeful hearing Adobe processing the pages, Jaws didn't read it. Now what? Plan 2..send it to my son to convert hopefully, lol For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
