Folks, Unless you need this, it is extremely unwise to use it. It is a big-time security risk. I haven't used nor seen a need for this in several years.
Don't get Java Run-time fron Sun Systems confused with the Adobe Java Flash plug-in, which is completely different. You may need Adobe Flash for some websites and to play certain content. Even there, though, you can often enable html5 in your browser and avoid the need to use Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash often has been getting updates on a weekly basis because of security flaws as well. So, only enable it for those websites where it is necessary.
