Folks,

Unless you need this, it is extremely unwise to use it.  It is a big-time 
security risk.  I haven't used nor seen a need for this in several years.

Don't get Java Run-time fron Sun Systems confused with the Adobe Java Flash 
plug-in, which is completely different.

You may need Adobe Flash for some websites and to play certain content. 
Even there, though, you can often enable html5 in your browser and avoid the 
need to use Adobe Flash.  Adobe Flash often has been getting updates on a 
weekly basis because of security flaws as well.  So, only enable it for 
those websites where it is necessary.

If you are running Windows 7 try the following:

Press the Start Menu key
Type access and when you are on the Ease of Access Centre press the enter 
key
Press the Tab key until you land on Use the Computer without a Display link 
and press the enter key
Press the Tab key until you get to the Java Access Bridge check box.

The status of that check box will let you know if JAB is enabled or not.
